I am starting this review with Rue Beignet because it is one of the family-oriented coffee shops in Baton Rouge. At the time I visited, I saw clusters of people – families- enjoying themselves and having a great time. 

The coffee shop has a menu that’s designed to accommodate every member of the family. Aside from coffee, Rue Beignet is known for beignets and fingers. If you want a hearty meal with your coffee, you cannot go wrong with the beignets from this coffee shop.

When I saw the name of this coffee shop, I had an idea. They should be ever-dynamic in their coffee offerings and when I visited I was not disappointed. The coffee blends sold at Rêve Coffee Lab BTR come with a certain dimension of uniqueness that is better experienced. 

Lovely aesthetics and a pretty decent selection of vegan options also add to why Rêve Coffee Lab BTR is on this list of best coffee shops in Baton Rouge.

At Highland Coffees, I found the most comfortable and relaxing of atmospheres. The coffee shop has a laid-back seating arrangement with comfortable couches like luxury lounges. 

It is a great hangout location and its proximity to the campus makes it a common destination for students looking to study or work on their computers. It has a nice, little patio out the back.

There’s a cool selection of food options, desserts, and pastries at City Roots Coffee Bar, including wine and spirits. This is one of the new coffee shops in Baton Rouge worth visiting.

This is my favorite black owned coffee shop in Baton Rouge. After Simple Joe Cafe, this is another coffee shop with a dedicated breakfast menu. You can come in for a hearty or light breakfast with coffee. The coffee shop also tilts to vegans as they have salads, soups, and other healthy food options on their menu.

Finally, we have MJ’s Cafe. It is one of my favorite coffee shops on Government Street because it finely mixes the features of a restaurant with a coffee shop. This is the place to go if you want to have a belly full when you leave. 

The consistency in their taste was something the locals admired and it is a good quality for every restaurant. Try MJ’s if you are in Baton Rouge.
