This simple recipe is easy to follow and ensures you make super black iced tea similar to Starbucks.


  • ½ cup Lemonade

  • ½ cup Water

  • Ice cubes

  • 2 fresh Teabags (black tea)


  • Heat water under medium heat to simmering point (maintain 190 Fahrenheit)
  • Add the tea bags and simmer for 3 minutes while the teapot is covered
  • Remove the tea bags and let the steeped tea cool
  • Put ice into a cocktail shaker, followed by tea and lemonade. Shake for 30 seconds.


  • Avoid simmering tea for over three minutes as it will turn bitter. Also, using boiled water can damage the tea flavor and make it bitter.
    Let the tea cool before mixing with other content. Pouring hot tea on ice will result in extra dilution due to melted ice.
